P L A Y is a monumental installation, with an ongoing five day shower of confetti inside the Zuiderkerk in Amsterdam. Based on the Sunrise Quartet by Haydn the minimal and abstract breakdown by Sara Neutkens is represented in moving speakers throughout the church. Artist Elsemarijn Bruijn created an abstracted, synthetic interpretation of a natural phenomenon – rain – which transforms the Zuiderkerk in a sensoric engaging space that encourages us to make connections on a deeper level.
With PLAY 24classics offers a new perspective on playing with a vibrant program of live performances and installations for an exciting, diverse and in depth (listening)experience. Immerse yourself into this overwhelming experience of music and movement. Artists Elsemarijn Bruijs and Sarah Neutkens use spatial sound, light and architecture to create an interdisciplinary interpretation of the work of Haydn in relation to the concept of playing.
Gay Guerrilla is an iconic piece by Julius Eastman. Together with artists Christian Guerematchi and Boris Acket, 24classics presents a reinterpretation of this piece in the form of an audiovisual installation by using spatial sound, light and architecture… immerse yourself in an exciting ritual of light & dark, music and movement.
