Plucked
Curator Lavinia Meijer
Lavinia Meijer is the proud winner of the Dutch Music Prize in 2009 and recipient of an Edison Award for her album ‘Impromptus’ in 2011. She quickly rose to be one of the most famous harpists of our time, which led to a meeting with Philip Glass, who supported her to record a full album of his compositions. In 2015 Lavinia released her album ‘Voyage’, which consists of pieces by Ravel, Debussy, Satie and Tiersen. Some two years later she took on once more the repertoire of Philip Glass on ‘The Glass Effect’, for which she transcribed ten of his piano études. Who better then Lavinia to introduce us to the harp and other plucked instruments?
